Q: Does the Bernardo Winery have wine tasting?
A: Absolutely… $10 will get you a taste of 5 different selections from our tasting list in the tasting room!
Q: Some other websites out there say Bernardo Winery offers free tastings… well, do you?
A: A few years back we did offer free tasting, but in order to offer higher-end wine we needed to charge for our samples… and its a small price to pay for heaven in a glass!
Q: Is the Bernardo Winery dog-friendly?
A: Yes of course, however, we expect our 2 legged guests at the winery to be respectful of the grounds, we also ask that the 2 legged guests pick up after their 4 legged friends. And leashes are always required. No dogs are allowed on the Tasting Room Patio, in our Tasting Room, or within the fences of the Cafe.
Q: Is Bernardo Winery Wine sold anywhere else other than at Bernardo Winery, like wine shops or at restaurants?
A: We currently are not selling wholesale to any wine shops or beverage outlets, but there are select eateries in San Diego where you can find Bernardo Winery and a whole host of great San Diego County Wine… When you are out at your favorite restaurant, just as the wine stewart, “Do you have any SAN DIEGO COUNTY wine on your list?”
Q: Can you picnic at the Bernardo Winery?
A: Certainly, but please make sure you purchase your picnic items from within the winery grounds… Just so we can keep it beautiful and clean for your picnic’ing enjoyment!
Q: Is the Bernardo Winery handicapped-accessible?
A: Absolutely.
Q: Does the Bernardo Winery allow professional photographers to use the grounds?
A: Hey, we understand how beautiful this place is, so thats why we do allow photographers to use the site, with some minor requirements of course… We require that the photographers and/or their subjects contact the Bernardo Winery Event Office at 858-487-1866 to schedule a day and time with us so that we do not have any sort of confusion or interuption with our special private event clients or our guests. We also require all digital rights on all photos take on the grounds if we so choose to use the photos and a fee.
Q: Does the Bernardo Winery allow artists to come and paint (or use the medium of their choice) the winery and its grounds?
A: Absolutely yes, as long as one respects the grounds, the other guests and the unfortunate time constraint, the gates close at 7pm.

Q: Does the Bernardo Winery have an ATM on site?
A: Our tasting room offers a cash back service with a small fee of $1.50.
Q: Can we as guests bring food or wine when Bernardo Winery is having some special public event?
A: No. We try our hardest to offer everything that you could ever need right here on the grounds in our various shops and cafes.
Q: Are there currently any tenant spaces available?
A: Although we may not have space currently available we do maintain a waiting list of prospective tenants. Feel free to contact the office at 858-487-1866 to be added to the waiting list.
Q: Are the winery grounds open after the winery tasting room closes?
A: Our grounds are open to the public from 8am to 7pm daily. Some days, certain public events held by the winery allow for the grounds to be open earlier or later. Private events are held at the winery, but they do not allow public access, nor are all the gates open.
Q: Does the Tasting Room and Winery Grounds ever close completely?
A: Yes, only 4 days a year( Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Day, Easter Sunday) the Tasting Room, the Winery Village Shops, Café Merlot and the Winery Grounds are closed completely to everyone (even for people that just want to walk through : )
Q: Can I buy an oak wine barrel?
A: Yes! We do have wine barrels for sale, although sometimes we do run out… It is best to call and check if we have some available. The price is $100 a barrel.
Q: Are children welcome at the Bernardo Winery?
A: Being that the Bernardo Winery is family-owned and operated, we definately welcome the whole family… just make sure to keep an eye on those little fellows, 120 years of wine production and farming and ranching and so on can create some sharp edges.
Q: Is everything I read on the internet true about Bernardo Winery?
A: No. There are a lot of outside groups that meet at the winery, lots of individual and professional reviewers that review the winery, and there are millions of blogs about the winery out there, and sometimes the facts get a little boggled.
